Photographer, hiker and passionate about space, I selfishly want everyone to look up and be amazed also! For that, I'm willing to jump into my communicator's boots and spread the word in all the pubs of Belgium. Passionate about space and green technologies, my day job is to support and promote European research. After more than 10 years living in Belgium I have lost faith in meteorology but I am very excited to help put some science in Belgian pints! Hyperactive neuroscientist who loves sci-comm! I jumped into the Pint of Science adventure the first year in London, then founded the French one and now I help new countries to launch the festival. My mission? Make science accessible to everyone, everywhere! I’m a senior research fellow at the Technical University of Munich working on empirical software engineering. I coordinate a lot but can’t even handle my own calendar. Beer is natural to Germany and so is science, so why not bringing both worlds closer? Juggling organising Pint of Science and pursuing my doctorate in Engineering about Automated Manufacturing of Composites since 2014. I enjoy studying materials, robots, a good bit of science and a pint! I have a PhD from Imperial College London and now live in Athens. Having spent most of my adult life at Imperial, I am a Pint of Science attendee veteran. What could be better than drinking with friends and listening to scientists making a difference in the world! Come join us for a drink! I love traveling and learning. I am inquisitive by nature. Pint of Science makes an irresistible cocktail: free knowledge, precious inspiration, and invaluable human connections. I am a bioacoustician focusing on sperm whales; I constantly think about climate change. Grab a drink, let’s talk. I decided I was going to be a biologist in the moment I was told about Gregor Mendel and his experiments. I am an electrophysiologist at the Biophysic Institute of CNR in Genova. I strenuously believe in evolution and in the relaxing power of a beer after a hard-work day. I decided that I would become a Physicist when I was 10 years old and all my friends dreamed of being a princess. All in all I did not go wrong! Being a researcher has opened the door to a very precious kingdom: that of knowledge. Particles, cats, pottery and sailing are my sparkling world! Science, travel and beer lover. Looking under the microscope makes me very happy but also sharing my findings with the general public! Science is made for being shared beyond scientific atmosphere. Delighted to be part of the Pint of Science family another year! An erstwhile Earth Scientist, I now teach science to teenagers during the day and preach science to everyone else during my free time. Today, science literacy is crucial, so I’m looking forward to bringing the latest scientific research to the pub! Switching over to the private sector hasn’t deterred my love for science and promoting it to the public. Previously conducting research in cardiovascular genetics, always happy to chat about latest drug developments, over a biertje of course! Brain and beer lover over here! I am a neuroscientist currently working on a project regarding lasting memories in different ways of learning. In the meantime, I enjoy going to the pub with my friends grabbing some beers. I am really happy to bring science to the pubs of Portugal! I studied Political Psychology and used to research public perception of political issues. I believe that Pint of Science is a unique opportunity to introduce important issues to everyone who is interested in a fascinating science world. Native of France, I came to Barcelona 5 years ago to study neuropsychiatric disorders through super-resolution microscopy. Besides exploring Catalan and Spanish cultures, I enjoy existential conversations and passionate debates, even more so with a pint in between! I am a cognitive psychologist using neuro-imagery techniques to understand how human brain operates to allow communication, which is decisive in sharing ideas and thoughts. Being involved in the organization of Pint of Science seems then more than natural for me! I am a biologist specialized in Crohn and ulcerative colitis diseases and try to understand cell mechanisms so we can develop new therapies for patients. I wanted to start Pint of Science Sweden since I think that spreading science directly to the public is essential for the future. Whilst studying I loved the challenge of turning my research into a story that could be enjoyed by anyone, from my supervisor through to my grandma (both also enjoy a pint). Directing Pint of Science UK gives me the chance to bring thousands of science stories to pint-enthusiasts the world over! I am trained as a neuroscientist and used to research the brain. A whole variety of scientific research is happening across the world and I'm excited to be part of bringing it all together and showcasing it to people.
