Science for Society: Building a Better Future

The production of scientific knowledge has grown rapidly due to technology. Effective communication requires understanding and accessibility. We aim to make science accessible to all, promoting mutual learning. Utilizing scientific knowledge can deepen understanding and improve life. Everyone has the right to engage in scientific decision-making. By bringing scientists together with diverse publics, we can ensure a democratic approach to science. How can we all be part of it? How do we foster collaboration and contribute to a responsible society where informed decisions are made? How do we open this dialogue?

If you are a migrant and do not yet feel at home, the good news is that you are not alone and that there are ways to foster your "place attachment" or simply to create a place that you could call "home". During this evening, I will share with you the results of my PhD project (https://www.research-collection.ethz.ch/handle/20.500.11850/637108) and give you some tips on how to better connect with the current or next destination where you will be spending a few years!
